* Battlefield Babysitter features Kat, whose parents and brothers all have superpowers. She has... pink hair. She also has experience in ballet, gymnastics and karate from when her parents tried to prepare her for potential powers. She also has the experience of being around other heroes so that she is uniquely qualified to babysit for other heroes superpowered kids.
* Atomic Laundromat owner David is actually an aversion. He may be the son of an alien empress and earth's greatest super hero and the only one of his siblings without powers, but he firmly believes that one doesn't need powers to make a difference in the world so he's not the least bit bitter about it. Nor is he pathetic. If anything, he's frustrated that most people seem to expect him to be bitter or pathetic.
* El Goonish Shive had it subverted with Tedd. Who as a son of two wizards had to be a wizard, but didn't show any magic ability at all in tests with magic analysis wand. Enough of repeated tests that he retained fear response to its sound in late teens. It turned out that the problem was in the wand being too crude. Not only does it fail to tell apart different and non-mixable (at the time) systems of magic (which a guy with Aura Vision later saw immediately), as senior Verres admits on the next page, but it cannot even discern failure due to resistance. Which also presumably led to Tedd's mother being on another continent, divorced and remarried (and having a younger kid… also confirmed to be the same type of a wizard). Eventually his fairy grand-godmother spelled it out: Tedd has extremely high magic resistance from birth, and the sound kept scaring him, so he kept resisting whatever accompanies it, resulting in a very repeatable false negative. Oops.
** And the punchline:

* In American Dragon: Jake Long, the dragon powers "skipped" Jake's mother's generation. Her father, son, and daughter can all transform into dragons, but she can't.
* From The Legend of Korra, Aang and Katara has one non-bending offspring, Bumi.
* In Harley Quinn, the reason Kite-Man struggles so hard to be a respectable villain is because both his rather overbearing parents are superhumans (his dad has ice-powers, and his mom can fly), but he is merely human, and their disappointment couldn't be more clear. As he tells Ivy, he can't bring himself to stand up to them because... well, they're his parents. Ivy on the other hand has no trouble calling them out over it.
