Non-Interactivity/Headscratchers

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • It can sometimes be a real headscratcher when this trope is combined with Dramatic Irony. This lets us in on something the characters on the show don't know. Then the character shouts on, "Come on! Shout X and help us get down the path!" and acts as if we're doing just that, when any right-minded viewer on the character's side would actually be shouting, "Stop, you're heading right into the villain's trap!"
    • Man now I think it would be great if the characters actually acted like they heard the most Genre Savvy suggestion, but I guess it would make the kids who didn't suggest that feel dumb, and we can't have that.
