• Fridge Brilliance : The setting is very close from another series treating fundementalism's one, House Of The Night 's, namely.
  • Brandi's brother is really unkind to her for most of the film. Why ? It would have been better to show him as another, more sympathetic than in the movie, victim of the intolerance. But then, the viewers ready to attack Brandi's character for being too dark may have used him as a more sympathetic counterpart to Brandi's mysterious and dark self, and would have argued that the preference of their father and the absence of social shunning for him were the proof that she was what they would see as guilty for her problems. Making her brother unsympathetic and more well-accepted (at least apparently) prove two things : first, that Brandi's personality is not guilty, then, that her father's preference is due to her gender (and the incomprehension).
