All of the characters are pigs because they are actually a race of aliens.

These aliens slaughtered every human in the world and eventually took over.

The pigs are shapeshifting aliens in Shapeshifter Mode Lock.

This could explain why everyone is a pig. THEY ARE ALIEN SHAPESHIFTERS IN LOCK MODE!

The Pigs Are A Result Of Genetic Mutation.

Some plague or virus happened and turned all of the humans into strange pig like creatures.

Olivia’s Default Shapeshifter Form Is An Alien Crab.

The alien crab preferred this specific form and transformed into it. It called itself “Olivia” because that’s what it said when it first spoke. Ian’s form is pac man.
