He refers to Kizaru as "uncle" (in this connotation, it's like referring to him as a Mafia boss), as he is the Admiral that he is most affiliated with. He initially had a great deal of respect to Kuma, what with him being the test dummy for building the Pacifista, but after the incident at Sabaody, his trust in him has weakened greatly and he refers to him in a derogatory manner, despite Kuma having {{spoiler|lost his free will during his conversion to a Pacifista}}. He claims that he has nothing against pirates, but will still stop at nothing to crush them if that's what his higher ups command.
