- Hate Dumb: You wouldn't believe the amount of people who think that this series is terrible just because the orcs don't fit their perceived view of what orcs should be like.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel: The Sluagh.
- Squick: Jennesta's... fascination with Aidan Galby (who happens to be a prepubescent young boy) is extremely squickworthy, to say the least.
- Tear Jerker: The death of Alfray.
