- Crowning Music of Awesome: This is basically the site's entire point.
- It Gets Better - Some remixes can be made better by chopping first 30 to 60 seconds of the song off.
- Misattributed Song - It's commonly believed that this remix is by System of a Down. It isn't.
- Newer Than They Think - Contrary to popular belief, the concept of video game music remixes and a central location to showcase them was not originally conceived by OCReMix. The site's founder, djpretzel, was actually inspired by specialized sites like C64Audio, back then a collection of free Commodore 64 arrangements.
- The Scrappy: Vocal remixes are often the point of ire, mostly for being inferior to the instrumentals. They seem aware of it, as their April Fools' Day joke involved a Retool to all vocal remixes.
