- Buccaneer Broadcaster, an unlicenced broadcast transmission station. In the era when the BBC had a domestic monopoly on radio, it was not uncommon for a station aboard a ship at sea (or on foreign territory) to circumvent these arbitrary restrictions, which remained in place until The Sixties.
- The Boat That Rocked is a 2009 film about a ship, the Radio Rock, which functions as a pirate radio station. This film was named Pirate Radio in its US release.
