  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks: Completely averted, despite the fact that it's almost exactly the same as "Rabbit Fire" plot-wise, many people prefer this one.
  • Motive Decay: Arguably by the very start of the short, Daffy has already succeeded in escaping Elmer, with him believing it is Rabbit Season and Bugs being more than willing to take the hunter on. Nevertheless he still breaks from his hiding spot and chastises Elmer for falling for Bugs' tricks. It's not enough to escape getting his head blown off, Bugs has to get blasted by Elmer in his place.
