Rise of Immortals/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Complete Monster: More than half the roster. Lazarus, Scorpix, and Tatiana have all been stated or implied to have committed genocide. Netheurgist trapped a whole kingdom in some sort of nightmare hell-plane while turning them into wraiths. Psychozen wants to kill his family and their entire country. Ichorr wants to see all of Graxia destroyed to see if his fellow elementals return. Pycon conquered a whole world in a none-too-pleasant fashion. Nysuss is implied to be a world-destroying demon-naga. Suffice to say anyone not explicitly a good guy is probably one of these already or would become one if they succeeded.
  • Counterpart Comparison: Being a new game in its genre, its characters are often compared from those of DotA, HoN, or LoL due to some similarities both visually and in terms of gameplay.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Pirus the Brutalizer, the mega-creep that used to appear when a relic is destroyed, is popular enough among veteran players that Petroglyph is considering bringing him back into the game. Typhon is also sometimes brought up and at least one developer said that they're looking into it.
    • Balak has a movement comment about thinking there would be elven women at the tournament. This has since turned into a fairly impressive, for the game's population, drive to get an actual elven woman Immortal introduced, making the concept itself an Ensemble Darkhorse.
  • Sequel Displacement: A lot of players have not played nor heard of Guardians of Graxia before which was both a board and PC game but it's All There in the Manual.
