Tropes used in Road Train include:

• Animal Motif - Black dobermans appear a lot in the movie, apparently symbolizing the hell hounds they appear to be.
• Attack of the Killer Whatever - While not exactly driving it's self like you would expect in Maximum Overdrive; the device still manages to be a menace by causing the deaths of 3 people.
• Blood Magic - Blood is apparently its fuel source after all, not petrol.
• Demonic Possession - If you driving the thing it takes you over and makes you go off road and make yourself prone to death by design after it possesses someone else to do it's deadly work.
• Haunted Technology - More like demonic truck but same principle..
• Sealed Evil in a Can - Apparently a lot of it.
