Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Was the big melee at the end necessary? I mean, the position the English had against the French was far too advantageous to sacrifice, considering the French's numbers advantage. Why didn't the English just stay at the top of the cliffs and just rain arrows the whole time?
    • Because then all it would take is a proper charge by the French around the edge of the cliff to flank the entire English army, which would happen eventually when the archers got tired, if nothing else. That would leave the non-archer part of the army defending the flank on uneven ground with poor setup. None of which matters anyway since the king said he wanted a melee so there was a melee.
