  • Moral Event Horizon: Tito crosses it twice. First, he decides not to redeem Baldassare from slavery; then, he sells his late father-in-law's library, thereby disregarding his last wishes and alienating Romola.
    • As far as Romola is concerned, Savonarola crosses over when he refuses to save her godfather, Bernardo, from execution.
