Tanya considers war inherently wasteful and doesn't exactly enjoy the peril involved in being on the front lines nor is shehe crazy about some non-combat experiences on the front lines like the food. In the manga version of the battle that got her herhis Silver Wings Assault Badge shethe buffed herselfhim using magic after which shehe claimed that shehe's never been happier. Adrenaline may have played a role in that. Also is the trope image.

However, one of the fun things (for the audience) about this series is how Tanya's attempts to read herhis superiors are [[Entertainingly Wrong|horribly wrong]] and how herhis attempts to manipulate them often backfire. And what makes things even more entertaining is how smug Tanya often seems to be in the moment.

* [[Sobriquet]]: Tanya's enemies know herhis as The Devil of the Rhine (the Rhine being where shehe made a name for herselfhimself). HerHis nation has their own nickname for herhim, White Silver, presumably because shehe was awarded the Silver Winged Assault Badge and lived. Said badge is prestigious and awarded almost exclusively posthumously.
