* The Four Loves: All she wants is for the Medici family to love her.
* Impossibly Low Neckline: The appearance given by her attire. It's a bunny-esque dress with Detached Sleeves that has each sleeve linked via a band that crosses her chest.

* Metronomic Man-Mashing: One of her specials involves her doing this to her opponents when she uses Vice Versa to grab and slam them repeatedly. She then throws them in the air and impales them with the sword on one of her heels and Vice Versa pushes them further for more damage.

* My God, What Have I Done?: The final shot of her during her ending implies this; she got Vitale what he wanted, but she had to kill Ms. Fortune to do it.

"Time to paint the town red!"

Once a war-orphan slave named Patricia, Peacock’s body was gruesomely mutilated by slave traders that captured her. She was rescued by Dr. Avian’s Anti-Skullgirls Labs, and rebuilt her with a (literally) reality-defying biomechanical arsenal: the Argus System augmented her body, and the Avery Unit gave her access to unprecedented weaponry. Alas, they couldn’t do anything for her mind: Peacock’s damaged psyche and abiding love of cartoons shaped her new “toys” into a terrifying gang of cronies, whom she has no qualms using to Paint the Town Red... with blood. Terrifying as she is, she may be the kingdom’s best bet against the Skullgirl.
Line 109 ⟶ 111:
* Body Horror: Aside from her brain and her face, there's practically nothing left of her. Her eyes were forcefully gored out, so technically what remains are her eyesockets (but she can see with the eyes on her arms).
** More Teeth Than the Osmond Family: Those aren't her real teeth, they are removable like dentures (so she doesn't wear them while asleep). She has, in effect, a miniature, stainless-steel bear trap in her mouth, and some of her regular attacks involve biting the opponent.
** If you pay attention during her winning pose, the smoke she exhales after she puffs on her cigar comes out through what appears to be her eye socket, which transforms into a second mouth just for the Victory Pose.
*** She has another attack that betrays the nature of her eyes. Peacock can pull a large Hyperspace Mallet out from behind her back. After she swings it, she puts it away by stuffing the hammer headfirst into one of her eye sockets.
*** Look carefully at the holes leading to Hammerspace that she manifests in the environment (some of her item drops fall into them after they hit the ground, she leaps up through one when she's tagged in, she gets yanked into one during her tag out, etc.). The holes all have eyelashes identical to hers, and the color of the space behind them is identical to her eye color if you're using a palette that doesn't have her eyes blacked out.
** Before becoming Peacock, it's been implied that she wasn't looking better off before as a horrifically-mutilated war orphan.
* Byronic Hero
* Cartoon Bomb: The Assist Character bombs, George (the small one) and Lenny (the big fat one).
* Cheshire Cat Grin: Sports this constantly and doubles as a Slasher Smile due to her nature.
* The Chosen One
* Cigar Chomper: She's fond of smoking fat cigars and occasionally uses them in attacks.
* Creepy Child
* Cute and Psycho
* Cyborg
* Deconstruction: She had to go through hell and back to get her Looney Tune-esque powers. Also she fits right into the style because the experience drove her mad.
* Even Bad Girls Love Their Daddies: The death of Dr. Avian in her story route spurs her to seek revenge against the Co-Dragons.
* Eyes Do Not Belong There: Those black dots on her face aren't her real eyes—along with everything else they did, the slavers put her eyes out. She sees with the feather-like electronic eyes on her arms and peacock-like tail, all of which can fire Eye Beams.
** When she sleeps, she puts sleeping masks on her arms, where her real eyes are.
* Fiery Redhead
* Fighting Your Friend: Marie
Line 138 ⟶ 141:
* Non-Standard Character Design
* The Only One: Who can destroy the MacGuffin.
* Otaku: In her alt voice pack.
* Peacock Girl
* Piano Drop: Capable of this, and with a variety of objects.
Line 153 ⟶ 157:
* Wheel-O-Feet

"Egrets, assemble!"

Few know the terrors of the Skullgirl as intimately as Parasoul does: seven years ago, her own mother became the Skullgirl that nearly destroyed the world. This tragic past has made her fiercely protective of both her country and her family, and these two priorities frequently come into conflict. Parasoul is now the crown princess of the Canopy Kingdom and leader of its elite military squad, the Black Egrets. Wielding the living umbrella, Krieg, she fights with grace, poise and cunning to defend her family honor and destroy the Skull Heart so no one can repeat her mother’s terrible mistake.

Tropes exhibited by these characters include:
Tropes related to Parasoul
* Assist Soldiers: She has a few attacks that utilize her off-screen soldiers.
* Badass Princess
Line 184 ⟶ 188:

* Putting on the Reich: The Black Egrets Assist Characters for Parasoul have uniforms and equipment that are clearly using this trope - grey-coloured, armband on the upper-right arm, gas-masks, seem to be using MP 40s and a MG 42 in a super, and have helmets resembling the fairly-stereotypical Pickelhaube (though those helmets, while culturally German, were used in World War I). Parasoul herself seems to utilize a Luger P08.
** What makes her interesting is that this is a rare heroic variant of the trope. That or her propaganda is just that good...
* Royals Who Actually Do Something
* She's Got Legs
Line 196 ⟶ 200:
* Zettai Ryouiki: Only on some of her alternate colours.

Tropes related to Krieg
* Eye Beams
* Living Weapon
Line 202 ⟶ 206:
* Parasol of Pain
* Playing With Napalm: He cries napalm tears, which can be placed on the screen and detonated.
** In addition, bullets shot into Krieg shoot out the other end, engulfed in a ball of flame. Parasoul has a number of attacks that involve her shooting Krieg with her Luger. Her Level 3 Blockbuster has her open Krieg fully, and have the Black Egrets fire on Krieg with automatic weapons. The result is a veritable storm of fireballs.
* Swiss Army Tears

Line 215 ⟶ 219:
* Abnormal Limb Rotation Range
* Ambiguously Brown
* And I Must Scream: Due to her immortality, any time we see her killed or taken out may count as this (particularly her being crushed by Cerebella and getting eaten by Double have gained this reaction by fans).
* Badass
* Bare Your Midriff
Line 228 ⟶ 233:
* Everything Is Better With Spinning: Her intro animation has her shred her trenchcoat by spinning her body independent of her head.
* Expressive Accessory: Her collar.
* Miss Fanservice/Fan Disservice: Swings between both of these.
* Gameplay and Story Segregation: Her powers of revival theoretically should make it impossible to knock her out in a fight (she can hit her own head, which is detached from her animate body, and remain conscious and in control of her body) but that (obviously) wouldn't make a great fit for a fighting game character.
* Girl Bites Girl: Her severed head can chew on opponents. (Popularly called OMNOMNOM)
Line 236 ⟶ 242:
* Le Parkour
* Little Bit Beastly
* Losing Your Head: She has the ability to take off her head and attack with it.
* Made of Plasticine
* Name's the Same: No, she's not a pirate hunter.
Line 274 ⟶ 280:
* Anime Chinese Girl: The image given off by her appearance, she is a decidedly non-cute example closer to a Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl.
* The Berserker: So much so that her charge attacks can gain more power when she's hit while readying them.
* Bittersweet Ending: In Filia's ending, she turns her back into a normal-ish girl. However Filia in turn will turn into the Skullgirl, the only good spot is that it's slow.
* Blade Below BOTH Shoulders and BOTH Knees: They're also retractable.
* Body Horror: She has a giant pinwheel attached to her back (connected to what looks like her spine), as well as nails driven into her thighs, shoulders and head. She's also able to produce spikes anywhere on her body.
* Cheshire Cat Grin: She gives one as a taunt and at the end of Filia's route. Don't worry, they're of the creepy cute variety.
* Dark Reprise: Her song, The Lives We Left Behind is remixed her to a depressing effect and called The Lives We Tried to Reclaim in her ending.
* Downer Ending:
Line 285 ⟶ 293:
* Hulking Out: Her Gaelbolga special causes her to do this.
* Implacable Woman: While using Hatred Install, Painwheel can use her charged normal attacks to absorb hits that would normally kill her, and survive.
* Irony: She ends up much better in anyone's but her own ending.
* Living Weapon
* Malevolent Masked Woman
Line 290 ⟶ 299:
* Odango Hair
* Perpetual Frowner: After becoming Painwheel. One piece of concept art published by Reverge Labs shows her smiling, with the emphatic note "this NEVER happens." penciled in next to it.
** Subverted in Filia's ending.
* Phlebotinum Rebel
* Psycho Serum: Experimental synthetic Skullgirl blood.
Line 299 ⟶ 308:
* Shout-Out: Her death-crawl is reminiscent of Voldo's reverse crab-walk.
* Swirling Dust: Victory pose. Kind of overlaps with a bit of Battle Aura
* That Thing Is Not My Child: Her ending.
* Used to Be a Sweet Kid
* Wheel of Pain: Her weapon, and her name.

* When She Smiles
Valentine
* Valley Girl: Her alt voice pack turns her into one.

Valentine
Line 313 ⟶ 326:

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
* The Atoner
* 1-Up: Her Level 5 Super can bring a dead teammate back to life with 33% of their health.
* Badass Normal: The only cast member who manages to kick ass without hosting a parasite or having command over a Living Weapon. Double and Ms. Fortune do not count.
Line 323 ⟶ 336:
* Does This Remind You of Anything?: Her dialogue when she starts talking about experimenting on Ms. Fortune, and her injured sprite.
* The Dragon: To the current Skullgirl.
* Dragon with an Agenda
* Even Evil Has Standards: Apparently, she wasn't happy about having to work on Painwheel; Brain Drain had to lean rather heavily on her to get her to cooperate.
* Evil Mentor: In her story, she prepares Painwheel to destroy the Skullgirl.
Line 354 ⟶ 367:
* Ms. Fanservice: Special mention has to go to her pre-fight intro, where she's seen behind hospital curtains fiddling with her top.
** See also her winpose; it involves her trying to pull a mercury thermometer out from inside her shirt, but "accidentally" snapping the end off because the rest of it is too firmly lodged between her breasts.
** When she gets knocked out, her top slowly slips off, showing Toplessness From the Back.
* Ninja Nurse
* Ninja Run: Her ground dash.
Line 368 ⟶ 381:
* You Gotta Have Blue Hair

Double
Line 381 ⟶ 394:
* Awesome but Impractical: Her Level 5 Super turns her into a Gradius boss. While Mike Z mentioned a 60,000 damaging juggle combo with it, it's easy to screw up, especially when you're pressured with not wasting a whole five meters. Only time will tell.
* Black Eyes of Evil: She has these in her nun form for one of her alternate color palletes. Still, her monster form has black sclera.
* Blank White Eyes: If she opens her eyes in her Sister Agatha form.
* Body Horror: Let's start with the fact that she has a giant, razor-toothed mouth in her back and go from there.
* Code Name: Her nun form is apparently called 'Sister Agatha'.
* Development Gag: Many of her transformations involve animations and concepts not used by the final designs of each character.
* Ditto Fighter: She assumes the forms of other members of the cast and uses specials they used to have in planning stages, such as taking Peacock's form and using a car to run down her enemies. However, all of her moves have different properties, making them unique to her. She does not possess the ability to copy powers, either. For example, she cannot use Krieg's tears, so she uses Parasoul's gun instead. As a whole, she only assumes the forms of her enemies not to outright copy them, but to mock them.
* Eldritch Abomination
* Even Evil Has Loved Ones
* Eyes Always Closed: When in her Sister Agatha form, when they do open they are pale white. It's implied her true eyes is the one red eye we see open in her route.
* Fan Disservice
* Freeze-Frame Bonus: Double's Level 3 super has her transform into all of the 7 main cast members, but also several as-of-yet unannounced characters; including Umbrella, Squigly, Andy Anvil, Black Dahlia and Mrs. Victoria.
** The opening to Skullgirls has a Freeze-Frame Bonus near the 1:16 mark, a poster that practically spoils her existence.
* Gainax Ending: One minute, Double is getting ready to devour the fighters she defeated. The next, two girls are playing Skullgirls...
* Gainaxing: Quite disturbingly, considering she's in her more monstrous form when she does it.
* Hartman Hips
* Horrifying the Horror: Not scaring her but you know something's wrong with Eliza when Double goes into a rage seeing her (supposedly for killing Aeon and Venus).
* Humanoid Abomination: Her nun form.
* Humans Are the Real Monsters: One of her win quotes.
* I'm a Humanitarian
* Mama Bear: Doesn't seem like it, but if her behavior towards Venus and Aeon and that she is enraged at the fact Eliza killed them means anything, she might be one..at least to them.
* Mini Boss
** There's also a picture of happy children showing a banner with 'Happy Birthday' on it for her (in her 'Sister Agatha' form)..
* Meaningful Rename: Sister Agatha a.k.a the oldest female serial killer.
* Mini Boss
** Dual Boss: With Valentine.
* Monochromatic Eyes: In her nun form. In her default color they are white.
Line 402 ⟶ 424:
* Sinister Minister
* Unexpected Shmup Level: Played with: her Level 5 super transforms her into an Easter Island statue that spits projectiles and summons Peacock's cartoon cronies. Sounds almost like a certain shoot-em-up series Konami made...
* Vocal Dissonance: If you saw her in a nun form, you would have never guessed she had a voice of legion.
**To people who were used to it, no one was expecting to sound her to sound well...normal.
**Taken even further with the 'Republication Double' voice pack where she was a male southern voice.
* Voice of the Legion: In more ways than one. Along with her shape, her voice morphs to match whichever character she's impersonating; she has very few lines in her "real" voice.
* Voluntary Shapeshifting
* What Could Have Been: Part of her fighting style. Any attacks that didn't make it onto certain characters went to Double instead.

: Voiced by Kira Buckland

The game's final boss. A maid with a skeletal motif.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
*
* Army of the Dead: She summons skulls and skeletal monsters, which she refers to as her "slaves."
* Big Bad
Line 441 ⟶ 466:
* Volcanic Veins: Glowing blue blood vessels stretch out of the Skullheart.

Squigly
A zombified former opera singer, Squigly is inhabited by the parasite Leviathan, a rival to Filia's parasite Samson. Squigly uses a combination of "stance cancels" and spatial control powers.

One of two characters originally planned to be in the original eight, but development was postponed to include Valentine and Double instead. IsHas onfinally thebecome topa ofplayable thecharacter. "Upcoming DLC" list.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
* Cute Monster Girl: The cutest zombie you'll ever see.
* Detached Sleeves
* Girlish Pigtails: Had some before being murdered. Levithan goes through her head making it one singular pigtail.
* Hartman Hips
* Spell My Name with an "S": An image found in the game files spells her name "Squiggley."
* The Undead

Umbrella
Parasoul's younger sister. Although Umbrella lacks the military protection and tactical finesse of her older sister, she does wield Hungern, a sentient umbrella that becomes more voracious and powerful the more it isn't used.

The other one of two characters originally planned to be in the original eight, but development was postponed to include Valentine and Double instead. IsHas alsofinally onbecome thea topplayable ofcharacter. the "Upcoming DLC" list.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
* Cheerful Child
* Creepy Child: In her alt voice pack.
* Parasol of Pain
* Parasol Parachute: In one of her opening sequences.
* Token Loli
* Wrong Genre Savvy: In Story Mode she lists off charge attacks from characters of other fighting games similar to Parasoul.

Big Band
Big Band (or Ben Birdland) was once a police officer before he was fatally beaten and ditched by his coworkers. However things weren't all lost for Ben, as this attracted the Anti-Skullgirl Labs. Not wanting to spend the rest of his days in an iron lung, he agrees. He was reborn as "Big Band" after being fused with the machinery that lets him use a powerful array of pneumatic weapons.

He is both the first male and DLC character to be created.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
* Alliterative Name
* Armless Biped: Zigzagged. He does have arms under that large coat of his, it's just they're apart of an arsenal of weapons.
* Badass Baritone
* Badass Trench Coat
* Big Band: His literal codename and main aesthetic. A lot of his weapons are literal or made to look like instruments.
* Big Good: One of the few 100% good characters in the game.
* Cool Mask
* Cyborg

The Trinity
