If they met, I could see {{spoiler|Sabo}} wanting to give Robin a message to Luffy for him (through letter or otherwise) in the New World, but not before because he doesn't want to distract him with the fact that {{spoiler|the brother he thought was dead for ''years'' is still alive and kicking}} while making the dangerous voyage through Fishman Island.
* Very improbable, if you recall just what happened to {{spoiler|Sabo in Luffy's flashback}}. And {{spoiler|him being alive}} would nullify Luffy's whole motivation, which I doubt Oda would do.

Just so people know im basing this WMG on the idea of the stable timeloop, wherin Luffy cannot deliberately do something that he knows would change the future such as picking up Brook before he does when he's 17 or not handing himself into the marines. Becuase this would cause key events in his life to not happen, possibly making him be erased from existance (when he is in the past).
For example upon arriving in the past he would remember that Brook will become stuck in the florian triangle for over 50 years, and possibly want to save him from that torture. However he knows that he cannot try to save Brook as that would mean he wouldnt be there to be added to his crew when Luffy is 17, and Brook not being there could result in a number of his crewmates possibly including himself dying.
Not to mention a number of other possible disasters.

Logic dictates furthering the clash with Big Mom which is pre-established, since Blackbeard is being set up as a series-wide [[Big Bad]].
** I was actually about to post this myself, when I saw it hear. I can definitely see an argument for it. Plus, the idea of it being Big Mom or Blackbeard is rather obvious. I think part of the reason that it wasn't stated to the audience is because the idea of Luffy teaming up to take down Shanks seems so strange. Also keep in mind how Luffy's crew reacted.
