Puella Magi Madoka Magica/WMG/2: Difference between revisions

If the previous season was Part 1 of Goethe's ''[[Faust]]'' this will be Part 2, which is more episodic in nature. The episodes can be a bunch of vignettes dealing with the lives of the characters {{spoiler|in a changed world.}} If we're lucky, we may even be treated to {{spoiler|witch backstories.}} The main plot will probably focus on {{spoiler|Homura, who might even be [[Walking the Earth]], killing demons in a [[Reconstruction]] of [[Magical Girl|MagicalGirls]].}} If the [[Faust]] parallels continue, the end of Season 2 will be {{spoiler|Homura being reunited with Madoka in some sort of afterlife.}} If we're ''really'' lucky they may throw us readers a bone and {{spoiler|bring ''everyone'' [[Back Fromfrom the Dead]]}}, but don't hold your breath.

In ''[[Dungeons and& Dragons]]'', by separating their souls from their body; Liches gain power; which they use to study to become the next level. From Lich to Demi-Lich to Arch-Lich to Deity. Puella Magi are "partial" Liches, however, since Kyubey is draining crucial energy needed to maintain their focus. "Witches" are a kind of failed Demi-Lich transformation; they only partially achieve an astral state and are still fused with their damaged phylactery/grief seed. Madoka jumped several levels with her wish and succeeded in becoming a God.

[[Instrumentality|The Incubators became an emotionless]] [[Hive Mind]] [[The Singularity|Singularity]] in an attempt to preserve their civilization from such an insanity while increasing their collective intelligence enough to know just a subatomically small bit of it, only for them to discover that almost every scientifically-based means in the universe is not enough to stop it.... except for a [[Powered by a Forsaken Child|certain form of energy]] on which they themselves can't even comprehend why it works anyway out of all things. The necessity for tormented girls' souls to be sacrificed to it in order to stave it off? Same thing as to why [[Warhammer 4000040,000|the Dark Eldar sacrifice tortured souls to Chaos (another name for Entropy) so that it does not eat them alive instead]]. Fits in with how a [[Cosmic Horror Story]] will always have its hierarchy of abominations to be [[Always a Bigger Fish|Always Bigger And More Inconceivably Insane Fishes]].

For some reason, we got [[Sealed Inside a Person -Shaped Can]], and the Incubators are one of the only things managing to unlock us.
