Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime based off of Cyberpunk 2077, and by extension the Cyberpunk tabletop role playing games.

David Martinez is a low-class teenager living in Night City along his mom, that works as paramedic. She struggles to pay the bills, and in school David is mistreated by some of his students because the school that he attends, Arasaka Academy, is majorly attended by students of higher classes thanks to the large amount of money demanded. One day while returning from school after David causes an incident in the school by using pirated software, David and his mom are victim of a car accident caused by criminals.

David's mom is left into a coma and then dies, but not before David receives a beating of a school bully that taunts him about his mother being possibly a prostitute. David also finds a cybernetic implant called the Sandevistan by accident when he is given his things of the wreckage back. Initially he tries to sell it, but after his mom dies, he seeks help of a back-alley cyber-criminal called "the Doctor" to implant the thing on David himself.

It was made by Studio Trigger and released in 2022. It is available to stream on Netflix here.
