* The Granada TV version of "The Final Problem" (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes) replaced the opening violin tune with a slower, sadder version.
* The credits of the last episode of Blakes Seven were completely silent except for gunshots.
* The Daily Show did this one time, and it involved a globe. The reason for this is they had Neil deGrasse Tyson as a guest, who on at least one previous appearance on the show, complained the [regular] opening of the show had the earth spinning in the wrong direction. The reason the Daily Show didn't change they're regular opening was doing so was prohibitively expensive.
