The only things that kept him sane were his conversations with his beloved daughter...." This fic contains MAJOR GAME SPOILERS. You would also need to know about the secret files before even thinking about reading this fic. * Comments: A very rare glimpse into one of the most pivotal characters in Star Ocean 2. The way Wallwalker presents Dr. Lantis gives new meaning towards "show, don't tell." She is both subtle and obvious with the characterization. I really don't know how else to describe it. It all just makes sense. The bottom line is that this fic has haunted me ever since I first read it because it's profoundly sad. [http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2329715/1/ Points of View] by Intrasonic * Recommended by Matt * Pairing: None * Synopsis: ~~[[SO 3]]~~SO3: A collection of scenes interspersed throughout the game's plot, focusing mainly on Nel as she comes to grips with a rapidly changing worldview. * Comments: Watching Nel's reactions is fascinating and her dry sense of humor keeps the story from bogging down in introspection. Cliff is also in fine form. Line 32 ⟶ 31: * Recommended by Matt * Pairing: Clair/Nel (one sided) * Synopsis: ~~[[SO 3]]~~SO3: Part 1: Now that you've received your Happy Ending (tm), welcome to the rest of your life! (Note: No refunds will be issued, customer satisfaction may vary.) Part 2: Because nothing says 'mutual respect' and 'profound thanks' like classifying your friends as a primitive anthropology exhibit. * Comments: A post game story focusing on Maria, and eventually Nel, as they explore some of the unsolved mysteries left behind after the Creator incident. Excellent character voices all around, and, as above, the humor is character based rather than 'wacky' antics. == [[Shipping\|Shipping Fics]] == Line 41 ⟶ 40: * Recommended by Axelseru * Pairing: Gabriel/Lucifer * Synopsis: I'll just quote this: "He would like to say that he has hated Gabriel since the first moment he laid eyes on him, and that his feelings have not changed since then." Takes place pre-game and is spoilerific. * Comments: Because it is an excellent interpretation of Lucifer and his mixed feelings for Gabriel. The fic is quite "hot" without being too detailed. The only flaw I can think of is the "dry" sex. Beyond that, a well done presentation of a very uncommon Star Ocean 2 pairing.
