* [[Author Existence Failure]]: George Lucas hired SF pulp novel author and Hollywood screenwriter Leigh Brackett to write the script for ''The Empire Strikes Back''. She wrote a first draft but died of cancer before she could revise it. Lucas wrote subsequent drafts himself, and later turned the script over to Lawrence Kasdan (writer of ''[[Raiders of the Lost Ark]]'') for polishing. (Lucas's revisions after Brackett's death notably included the creation of the [[Luke, I Am Your Father]] moment.
