- Crowning Music of Awesome: The movie's orchestral soundtrack is actually very good.
- Gary Stu: Ben disobeys orders, risks lives senselessly due to simple pride in Rangoon, distrusts the UCAV instinctively for no apparent reason, and it's learning from his attitude that makes the UCAV dangerous. He is never called to task over any of this.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Josh Lucas, who plays probably one of the dumbest combat pilots in film history in this movie, would later be cast as Charles Lindbergh in J. Edgar.
- Narm: The evil supervisor calls his evil boss, to remind him that "This is the difference between warriors and politicians." Apparently, the difference is that warriors shoot themselves dead in restrooms.
- As one review pointed out, EDI downloaded every MP3 on the Internet and yet he only listens to Incubus.
- Well you could argue that it was sign EDI was sentient and had a personality

- Trapped by Mountain Lions: After Kara is shot down, several segments of the film are
wasted ondevoted to her running from the North Korean army. Then the climax is based around rescuing her. - Visual Effects of Awesome: Say what you will about the movie, at the time, the special effects were pretty damn convincing. Special mention falls towards the crash that causes Henry's death as well as the explosion in Alaska. Digital Domain was responsible.
