- Moe Moe: Shima is almost an archetype, though most of the girls show some traits of it.
- Tear Jerker: The entire last episode, but especially when Stellvia goes into the fracture.
- Wangst: Shima keeps beating herself up for not being good enough, even after she actually saves the Earth.
