• The first such moment of the verse came in chapter 17 where Kaworu interrupted Rei's suicide and got her to talk about it. When she broke down and revealed her lack of self-worth, he hugged and comforted her despite the fact that he was heavily bleeding from his side at the time.
• Then she returned the favor in the season finale where she revealed to Kaworu that they're siblings, actually making him shed Manly Tears.
