- Creator Breakdown: According to Matthew Drury, this is the reason The Sons of Darkness ends as abruptly as it does, with only a brief summary at the end to explain how that segment of the saga concludes. The author has said that personal difficulties during this time, plus dissatisfaction with the story's direction by this point, prompted a decision to cancel the story; it was only when he came back to write Duality that he added the tacked-on summary in Sons of Darkness's epilogue for continuity's sake.
