* During a [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=katnXdCswMA video] criticizing Steve Shives, he notes that Shives really doesn't like how TJ calls himself the Amazing Atheist, prompting TJ to reveal why he decided to call himself that in the first place. He says that he chose the name because he wanted to show other atheists that they shouldn't have to feel shame for rejecting religion, and they could still be amazing people despite what others might say about them.
* In spite of his hatred for feminism he made his disgust known when feminist YouTuber Heather Anable was killed by her boyfriend and even started a fundraiser in her name to help domestic abuse victims.
* TJ has a reputation for being mean-spirited toward religious people but in 2010 he uploaded a video defending the construction of a mosque being built near Ground Zero as well as Muslims who had been subject to harassment.
