  • Family-Unfriendly Aesop: The entire series seems to run on the idea that all girly girls/guys are actually evil manipulative bitches inside and only tomboys and guys who are manly (gay or otherwise) can be good people
  • Magnificent Bastard: Ashley, even to her parents.
  • Serial Numbers Filed Off: It's hard to find even one major plot point not carried from The Clique.
  • Unnecessary Makeover: Deconstructed, Sadie lampshades this by mentioning that she doesn't need the makeover to Lauren, deconstructed since it turns Sadie into a monster.
