"The Call of Cthulhu" is a short story, written by American writer H.P. Lovecraft. Written in the summer of 1926, it was first published in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, in February 1928.
The story narrator, Francis Wayland Thurston, takes interest in a cult that worships a being called Cthulhu after discovering the notes and work of his recently deceased grand-uncle, who was studying said cult and believed eldritch shenanigans were on. But the more Thurston investigates, the more horrific the revelations become...
