  • Designated Hero: Junior pathologist Mark Kenniston, by dint of being one of the first people to see the clone and survive, obtain a sample of it, figure out its weakness, and also because he is pretty chummy with Health Commissioner Sorensen. Mark is eventually placed in direct command of the fire department's efforts to combat the creature.
  • Fridge Logic: Since the main thing that the muriatic acid, trisodium phosphate and silica gel latch onto in order to create the clone was hamburger meat, doesn't this mean Chicago is under siege from what is basically a giant killer beef blob?
  • Needs More Love: It is rather underrated and considered irrelevant by many, not even meriting a Wikipedia entry, despite a promising variation on the standard Blob Monster premise.
