- Complete Monster: Joe Ferrente. Over the course of one subway ride, he psychologically terrorizes a whole car full of people, humiliating and antagonizing almost everyone, including making Afrophobic comments to a black couple and feeling up a young woman while her boyfriend is too helpless to do anything.
- Crowning Moment of Awesome: Felix Teflinger, after sitting by and watching the whole night, finally takes on Joe after he starts to harass a couple and their young child. Joe pulls out a knife and stabs Felix in the stomach, but Felix still gets Joe down and beats him senseless with his cast. That's right. Felix has an arm in a cast, but manages to knock out Joe and Artie. By himself.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel: This movie has a terrifying depiction of the subway. Not only are the characters stuck on a subway with two psychopaths who are trying to rattle them at any costs, but none of the passengers are willing to stand up and help.
- Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped: If all the passengers had banded together to stop Joe and Artie in the first place, everything would have been okay.
