Basic Trope: A character feeds another because of affectionate feelings.
- Straight: Jane invites John, her crush, over for a home-cooked meal after a rough day at the office.
- Exaggerated: Jane quits her job to work as John's unpaid cook because of his hard work.
- Jane's cooking is so wonderful, John falls proposes to her after just one bite.
- Justified: Jane is a chef and loves to cook, especially for those she cares about.
- Inverted: Jane reminds John not to eat because she knows he's on a diet.
- Subverted: Jane offers John a box of chocolates, but they turn out to be gags.
- Jane cooks for John because John pays her to do so, not out of love.
- Double Subverted: Except that's only one of them.
- But even if John had never hired her, Jane would still be willing to cook for John.
- Parodied: John is morbidly obese because of Jane's supplying him with food.
- John proposes to Jane solely for her cooking ability.
- Deconstructed: Jane's feeding John is an attempt to make him dependent on her.
- Jane is so shy, the only way she can express her feelings is though cooking, but John doesn't know that. From his perspective, Jane is just a nice girl who likes to cook for him.

- One day, Jane gives John a cake with the words "I love you" on it. John immediately realizes why Jane cooked for him, and the two officially become a couple, with Jane still cooking for John.
