Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | TiMER takes place in an Alternate History version of the United States in which, at some point in The Nineties, the TiMER--an incredibly accurate device that counts down to the day the wearer will meet his or her destined mate--was invented, changing the way people thought and acted about romance and relationships. The story follows Oona, an unfortunate woman whose TiMER remains blank, indicating that her “one” has yet to even get a TiMER, and her solution to this has been (unsuccessfully) dating numerous TiMER-less men and forcing them to get one installed. Oona is forced to change her dating habits when she meets Mikey, a young and impulsive grocery clerk and drummer with a functioning TiMER. He invites Oona to live in the present instead of stressing about the future. |
