One of the two main heroines of the Modern Kirameki Saga. A sweet, cheerful, compassionate and sincere girl in more or less the same mold as Tokimemo 2s heroine Hikari Hinomoto, the Main Protagonist meets her on his first day of High School. She dreams of becoming a nurse. Is best friends with Tsugumi Godo.

----
* Hospital Hottie: Dreams of becoming a nurse, .

* Overshadowed by Awesome: Despite being one of the two main heroines, fan popularity-wise she got relegated in the background by both Yuu (Expy of fan-favourite Shiori) and Miyako (Ensemble Darkhorse thanks to her Yandere traits).)

The other main heroine of the Modern Kirameki Saga, and Student Council President of Kirameki High. She's a relative of Shiori Fujisaki of Tokimemo 1, she views her in high regards, and wishes to be as perfect as her, to meet her love, and confess her feelings to him under the Legendary Tree, like the Superstar of Kirameki High did in her High School time. As such, Yuu is completely molded in the same vein as Shiori, to the point of being an Expy of her.

One of the two Senpai characters of the game along with Aki (and thus a year older than the Main Protagonist), she's one of the characters of the last class donning the classic and iconic Kirameki Sailor Fuku (the classes after wearing the new Kirameki Blazer).

----

* Deuteragonist
* Expy: Of Shiori, and it was a deliberate move of Konami.
Line 39 ⟶ 38:

----

* Green-Eyed Monster: She has an hilarious Jealousy Event that occurs, should you go to the Coffee Shop she works at with another girl after a date.
* Meganekko
* Super Drowning Skills: Played with during a scene at the beach, and thanks to her tsun-tsun, is stubborn to admit it.
* Tsundere

The Protagonist's childhood friend. She helps him with various things including being this game's "Info <s> Man</s> Woman". While normally a kind and cheerful girl (with a streak of Deadpan Snarker), . Because of this trait, Miyako quickly became this game's Ensemble Darkhorse.

She has a rabbit doll which she's had since childhood. Said doll is actually . She's also best friends with Itsuki.

----

* Cannot Spit It Out: Miyako has always harbored romantic feelings for the Protagonist, but greatly feared that revealing them would destroy their friendship if unrequited, so she suppresses them... which only fuels that dark side.
* Clingy Jealous Girl: Becomes this during and after her Yandere moment. After she snaps out of it, she'll refuse giving you information on the other girls any longer.
** If the Protagonist continues to purse other girls .
* Expository Hairstyle Change
* Good Morning, Crono
* Immune To Bombs: Miyako is completely immune to the customary Tokimeki Bomb from other girls, because she knows the Protagonist so well and immediately recognizes them as false rumors. .
* Just Friends: What she has resigned herself to be, unless the Protagonist strengthens her dream that she can be more.
* Late Arrival Spoiler: It's really hard to miss the fact that she goes Yandere at a moment of the storyline, as it's one of the most discussed things around this game, and what makes Miyako its Ensemble Darkhorse.
* Lethal Chef: Does it on purpose during her Yandere phase..
* Secret Character: Was somewhat intended as this, but this majorly failed.
* Security Cling: She's afraid of heights and there's an event when you have to go up a snow lift. Good thing the Protagonist is there to give her confidence.
* Unlucky Childhood Friend / Victorious Childhood Friend: Can become either of them. She's more likely to become an Unlucky one though, being initally just the Info Woman.
** Not if her massive fanbase has a say on the matter.
* .
* Yandere: The first of the series.

Itsuki Maeda
Line 78 ⟶ 76:

----

* Big Eater: Lampshaded by the Protagonist during School Festival, who wonders how she's able to go every food store and eat this much (and this all while staying slim!).
* Bokukko
* Cry Cute: .
* Hey, It's That Voice!: Tsundere Kagami Hiiragi became a Bokukko here!
* I Have Brothers
* I Just Want To Be Feminine: As she becomes more aware of her romantic feelings it begins to crop up from time to time.
* One of the Boys
* Tears of Joy: In her Ending.
* Tomboy
* Wrench Wench

A half-blooded Japanese born in Miyagi Prefecture, she comes to Kirameki High in second year. Best friend of Fumiko, she loves Japanese culture and is a bit militant of it (most notably shown in a Event where she critizes the historical inaccuracies of a video game based in the Sengoku Era; but not militant to the extreme of Kotoko Minaduki of Tokimemo 2), and is a Kendo expert. Because of her western heritage, she has self-esteem problems, feeling and fearing she won't be able to blend in the Japanese society and won't be able to find friends that will accept her for what she is.

----

* But Not Too Foreign: The first of the series, Patricia McGrath and Chiharu Aoki, who preceeded her, being fully-fledged foreigners.
* Phenotype Stereotype
* Tohoku Regional Accent: She speaks in this dialect constantly, in sharp contrast to Patricia McGrath who spoke in Kansai Regional Accent only when she was in a bout of fury.

* Dojikko
* Engineered Public Confession: Sort of. .
* Gainaxing: Used during her portait sequence of her Limit Break in battle, as well as in her introduction in the mini-OVA.
* Genki Girl
* The Ingenue: Certainly, all the girls in Tokimeki Memorial 4 are virginal maidens, but Fumiko never shed her childish outlook on life.
* Gainaxing: Used during her portait sequence of her Limit Break in battle, as well as in her introduction in the mini-OVA.
* Hey, It's That Voice!: Say Fumiko, aren't you in reality Index?
* Moe Moe: Easily the best example in this game.
* No Indoor Voice
* Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Has a tendency to drop an onomatopoeia here and there.
* Security Cling
* The Ingenue: Certainly all the girls in Tokimeki Memorial 4 are virginal maidens, but Fumiko never shed her childish outlook on life.

* Death Glare: A very scary one at that.
* Delinquents
* Hard Work Hardly Works / Brilliant but Lazy
* The Power of Love: .
* Unwilling Suspension: .
* The Power of Love:

* Emotionless Girl
* Defrosting Ice Queen
* Headphones Equal Isolation
* Iconic Item: Her headphones.
* Kuudere
* Meaningful Name / Punny Name
* Iconic Item: Her headphones.
* Shout-Out: The Kanji of her surname, "Kyono", can be read as "Hibikino".
* When She Has Fun: It's almost like she's a different person altogether, and the rarity of these moments are heartwarming.

The second of the two senpai characters with Yuu, and as such wears the Classic Kirameki Sailor Fuku. A mature girl with high interest in chemistry, she dons a lab coat over her uniform at all times. She's reminiscent of Yuina Himoo of Tokimemo 1, but is much more composed and sane, and thus is not a Mad Scientist like her.

----

* Chemistry Can Do Anything: Certainly believes in this. Fortunately she doesn't actually experiment on anything or anyone... yet.
* Cool Big Sis
Line 170 ⟶ 161:
* TV Genius: Not too extreme, as she has a womanly maturity to temper it.
* Wise Beyond Their Years

A kohai by one year of the Protagonist, she's a part-time student at Kirameki High. Very shy, she holds a diary where she writes her feelings. Should the Protagonist find her diary, they'll start a relationship through it. She works at a sweets shop, and wants to become a confectioner.

Rui Nanakawa
Line 187 ⟶ 179:

Older twin of one of the Protagonist's best friends, Tadashi Nanakawa. She likes to switch places with her brother, in the same vein as the Shirayuki sisters in Tokimemo 2, leading to some Crowning Moments Of Funny (particulary when Manabu is around), as well as the way to meet her. A Genki Girl who loves anime and video games, and lables herself as an Otaku. In her Ending, she'll reveal to the Protagonist that she attends Hibikino High, and makes her confession of love under the Legendary Bell.

----

* Butt Monkey: A mild example, mostly resulting from impersonating her twin brother.
* Crossover: She's from an academy featured in another Tokimeki Memorial.
* Doujinshi: Working on several and hopes to be a mangaka one day.
* Even the Girls Want Her: When they think she's Tadashi. Rui reacts quite amusingly.
Line 198 ⟶ 189:
* Half-Identical Twins
* Immune To Bombs: Rui is completely immune to the customary Tokimeki Bomb from other girls, because she doesn't attend the same academy and never gets wind of them.
* Late Arrival Spoiler: Despite being a secret character, it's not really a secret that's she's Tadashi's twin, and that's she's a Hibikino High student. Just look at her official portrait!
* Mistaken for Gay: A recurring theme during the romance thanks to the frequent Twin Switch.
* No Indoor Voice
* Secret Character
* Shout-Out: Not only she's a Hibikino High student, her final photo shot after the Credits Roll has Maeka Kudanshita of Tokimeki Memorial 2 appearing in the background.
** Moreover, her Limit Breaks in battle are a fountain of Shout Outs. One of them has her trying to invoke her father to slash the enemy, Yukari Koshiki-style, and another has her invoke Vic Viper by playing the Konami Code on a Dance Dance Revolution board.
* Twin Switch
Line 213 ⟶ 204:

----

* Butt Monkey
* Cannot Talk to Women: It's not that Manabu is a social outcast or physically unattractive, he just tries too hard impressing girls and often does stupid things in the process.
* Chivalrous Pervert
* Did Not Get the Girl: How he generally sums up his life.
* Hey, It's That Voice! : Manabu has the same voice as another goofy Bromantic Foil, Youhei Sunohara.
* Mars and Venus Gender Contrast: Seems to run into this barrier a lot.

* The Ace

* Bishonen
* Half-Identical Twins
* Ho Yay: .
* My Sister Is Off-Limits: Averted. However Tadashi states that were it anyone else but the Protagonist, he would have invoked this.
* Nice Guy
* The Ace
* The Rival: During various mini games.

Kiho Inokura
Line 246 ⟶ 236:

----

* Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Even in the soaking rain she's absolutely lovely.
* Conveniently Seated: After their faithful encounter, the Protagonist sits in the classroom desk directly behind Kiho.
Line 256 ⟶ 245:
* Samaritan Relationship Starter: The Protagonist encounters a forlorn Kiho, sitting alone in the drenching rain on a street-side bench without protection. He walks up to her and offers his umbrella: thus the story begins.
* Together Umbrella
* Zettai Ryouiki: Grade B.
