It's not the first time the examples were removed; there was [http://web.archive.org/web/20110910115328/http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EpicRiff?action=source an earlier set] that were excised in early 2012, and that's the one we have to use because of the license issues anyway. I just grabbed a copy -- and honestly, it's a better set than the wall-of-text examples from 2017, where there's frequently just a band name and dozens of song titles.

Converting raw TVT source to MediaWiki is not a quick or simple thing -- it's not easily automated and instead needs a lot of human eyeballing. So it won't be happening too quickly, but I will eventually get it marked up and posted.

EDIT: Assuming no one objects. This thread petered out four months ago with a general half-hearted "I suppose, yeah, why not?" kind of attitude, but if anyone thinks we ''shouldn't'' restore the examples, well, now is the time to say so before I spend N days converting the example list.
