Oh, and so you can see the most important ways we are different from TVT, please read [[All The Tropes:Policy for Wiki Staff|the Policy for Wiki Staff]] and -- most importantly -- [[All The Tropes:How We Do Bans Around Here|How We Do Bans Around Here]]. This isn't a threat -- this is the wiki policy strictly controlling how and when user bans can be applied by an Admin. We want you to be aware that unlike TVT, we do not ban users on whims or because we're cranky -- and that you know what we do ban people for, and what it takes, so you can avoid future problems.

Finally, one bit of info. Because of a massive storm of spammers we had almost two years ago, All The Tropes has a moderation system in place. Until you demonstrate your bona fides, your edits will be held in a queue until a staff member can look them over and approve them -- so they won't appear as soon as you make them. However, in most cases new changes are approved within 24 hours, and sometimes much faster. Once you've demonstrated that you're a good wiki citizen -- it can take as short as a couple days or as long as a few months, depending on your edit patterns -- we will promote you to "automoderated", which means your edits will get applied to the wiki immediately.
