  • Broken Base: With the release of several new editions over the years all of which drastically changed the key premise, it was inevitable.
  • Creator Worship: There is a reason the 4th edition was called "Marc Miller's Traveller".
  • Fanon: The setting practically invites players to fill in the blanks with Fanon, referred to as "IMTU" for "In My Traveller Universe".
  • Fanon Discontinuity: The Virus to a lot of players, and just about anything to someone.
  • Follow the Leader: Most of Traveller's roots are in the Science Fiction literature of the '60s and '70s, but its initial success might have something to do with it coming out right after Star Wars was released.
  • Jumped the Shark: Any of the changes that broke the base, but especially Virus.
