* [[They Copied It, So It Sucks]]: According to [[Word of God]], despite being so much like [[Married... with Children]], Ron Leavitt (who co-created both shows) said that he'd intended to make ''Unhappily'' with more contrast than ''Married''. He admitted that it didn't quite work out like that.
** To clarify, the series was originally supposed to focus on a family through a divorce. Thing is, by the start of Season 2, Jack and Jennie wound up getting back together - apparently in response to positive reception of Jack.
*** Furthermore, Ron Leavitt created the show as a means to cope with his own divorce; the fact that the show morphed into a [[Married... with Children]] clone largely happened by accident once the show turned out to be a hit and decided to reconcile the parents.
