Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • In the pilot episode, when Hoffs tries to teach Hansen how to be a teenager again, it's awkward at first. Then later they're seen in an arcade and while it's at first twitches, Hansen has a full blown, child-like smile that only Johnny Depp could pull off. It was as though he remembered being a kid again and was having fun.
  • In Part 2 of the Pilot Episode, following up on Hansen's recent fight with Waxer, the principal seems hardnosed like in Part 1, but when Hansen and he are alone together, he tries to reason with him, not to fight him anymore. Said principal, has no idea that Hansen is a cop and while he does have some attitude on what he thinks is a new Juvenile delinquent student, he privately warns Hansen that Waxer is a killer. Deep down, the man's an educator worried about the safety of his students and even if he dislikes Hansen, he doesn't want to see him get killed.
  • In the episode "Wooly Bullies" each character talks about the time they've been bullied, in order to make Penhall feel better about his experience on an assignment, where he is posing as a school nerd, rather than his usual Anti-bully Bully persona. Hansen's story was unique, in that it started off as a bully turned romance. It starts off, when Hansen explains the brutal beatings he'd get. Then slowly reveal that the perpetrator is not only a girl, but it turns out later on, the reason she picks on him, is because she has a crush on him and only hurts him, because she didn't know how else to get his attention. Young Hansen, takes a chance and asks the girl to the dance. At first she hurts him again. But then during said dance, she accepts it and they actually have a good time. Hoffs tells a wholesome joke on the subject regarding his life with women since.

Hoffs: The first of many feisty women of your life Hansen.
