A Softer World is a webcomic as surreal as its black humour. But... expect some water works if you find yourself reading more than you can handle.
- A Softer World must win the prize for most laconic tearjerker ever. "I sing anyway"
- "Oh."
- "And she says, 'say cheese'." Also, "I can't remember."
- ("My gramma has this joke where she says "knock knock." I say, "Who's there?" She says "I can't remember.")
- "My son the astronaut" and "What if you fall in love?"
- "In my mom's room" and also "It's no good"
- "Movie monsters are meant to do horrible things" and "You're a good person and I love you"
- "oh no, is that lipstick on my collar?"
- "I pretend she's coming home".
- "You count clouds." Could be one of the most poetic ones.
- "Love is totally punk rock." It's not THAT tear jerker, but its really moving, to have that teenage vision of love.
- "Why would you send her something broken?".
- "She really is okay."
- "Nothing lasts forever".
