Despite eight innocent people being killed as a result of the plan. One being the original Pope.

- Funny Aneurysm Moment - Having an Islamic assassin before 9/11... Averted in the movie, since they changed him to a white man.
- Speaking of being published in 2000, let's not forget the passing of a real-world Pope a few years afterwards.
- Magnificent Bastard - Janus. And it's Dan Brown's greatest villain.
- And in the movie The Camerlengo doesn't go through a Villainous Breakdown at all, leaving him with the major cool points from the helicopter escape.
- Padding - In the movie. Extra points for Jacob Carter being involved.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Say what you will about the story, but everyone can agree the symmetrical versions of the words "Illuminati" and the four elements are cool as all hell.
