  • While fans at the movie gawk at the opening as being an unnecessary use of exposition. This troper found a sweet moment. When the lawyer questions Egg Shen about the whereabouts of Jack Burton, Egg shuts him down, fiercely demanding he leave Jack alone. Since he spent most of the movie protecting Jack from foes that he couldn't take by himself, it shows that even with their mission finished, Egg will still have his back.

Egg Shen: YOU LEAVE JACK BURTON ALONE!!! We are in his debt. He showed great courage.
