  • Crowning Moment of Funny: Before the movie's even started properly. Sam takes a long, dramatic walk to the debriefing chamber, escorted by guards and accompanied by tense music every step of the way...including the part where they have to struggle with a malfunctioning gate and then get lost in the corridors and have to backtrack. The music never changes.
  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: As Sam is being taken away by the MPs, the Ragtag Bunch of Misfits who he managed to organize into a half-way decent fighting force say "Senor Axe" and salute him.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Surprisingly enough, Sam. The movie ends with not only saving a bunch of civilians and taking down a corrupt Colombian politician, but he manages to manipulate events so that he forces the US Navy to honorably discharge him, give him first class tickets to Miami, a change of clothes and a cold bottle of beer.
