*** Later, Pym expanded on the idea by designing a similar prison, with interactions by human guards kept as a minimum, security filled mostly by Ant-Man's insect friends, the small number of human guards wearing duplicates of his helmet. The prison is still in use (only one inmate, Titania, has been stated), and was named the Lang Memorial Penitentiary (in honor of Scott lane, the second Ant-Man), sometimes jokingly nicknamed the Ant Farm. For now, this place has averted this Trope, but… give them time...

** Crossmore Prison is Great Britain's answer to this. It actually has a pretty decent record as such; for example, they were able to successfully hold the Professor Xavier when he was possessed by the Shadow King, and they were able to nab Vixon in a sting by paying her to break out the Juggernaut when he was held there. There have been some unfortunate incidents though; possibly the worst occured in one story had the imprisoned assassin Arcane manage to construct some Killer Robots (the Loonies, he called them) while still behind bars, siccing them on Captain Britain.

** In Spider-Man titles, Ravencroft Asylum is Marvel's answer to Arkham, but seemed to be both more secure and more successful in curing inmates. At least when the folks in charge were Dr. Kafka and Colonel Jameson. Unfortunately, when both were fired after Kafka made some rash decisions (she trusted the Chameleon too much in her efforts to help him) the place became as bad as Arkham, Carnage escaping three times in the period before Spider Island alone. One idiot put in charge lasted 15 minutes before he felt that the security measures for Carnage were too much a drain on the budget and turned them off, his incompetence most likely costing him his life.
* "Prison 42", nicknamed "Fantasy Island" by its inmates, debuted in Civil War. It's located in another dimension, accessible only by certain teleporter systems, secure and heavily coded. Many superheroes unwilling to register with the government were locked up there, and were indeed its first inmates. It was supposed to be the final answer to the Cardboard Prison. Naturally, the anti-registration heroes on the outside engineered a mass jailbreak...

** To be fair, many remained there after that and were only freed when Blaastar invaded.
