  • Crowning Music of Awesome: All of the songs are remixed by Manabu Namiki from other games in the series, and aside from the obligatory Vampire Killer, few have reached the point of overexposure. Some were even considered Wasted Songs in their original games: stage 2's theme is the high score table music from Haunted Castle, and stage 4's theme is the loading screen music from Castlevania Chronicles.
  • Demonic Spiders: As typical of a Castlevania game, especially on Hard difficulty. Annoying, but rare monsters on Normal will show up far more and in nastier locations on Hard.
  • Discontinuity Nod: Can it really be mere coincidence that Dracula's final form has a more-than-passing resemblance to the God Mask in Lords of Shadow, even though the latter appears to be completely outside the original timeline?
