An index of characters that, by their very definition, are always female, as well as tropes that are almost exclusively applied to female characters. There are several reasons for a trope to be categorized as Always Female:
* The trope is a Distaff Counterpart to an Always Male trope.
* The trope specifically revolves around femininity as a cultural construct, as it applies to women.
** TheIt trope exists only because the female versionmay isexplore a subversion of modern societal expectations; (in this case, male examples are so ubiquitous that they may not even have their own trope).
* The trope requires that the focal character have female reproductive organs.
* The trope hinges on the focal character being biologically female.
** The vast majority of Pregnancy Tropes (Mister Seahorse being a notable exception) need to be about characters with female reproductive organs.
