  • King Osric's parting words to Conan and his friends.

"There comes a time, thief, when the jewels cease to sparkle. When gold loses it's luster and the throne room becomes a prison. And all that remains is a father's love for his child."

  • The Director's Cut DVD for the original film has an extra scene before the final battle where Conan, knowing that their chances of survival are not good, offers Subotai the chance to leave. Subotai declines the offer to run away and chooses to stand beside his friend.
  • In the 2011 film, Ron Perlman's character as Conan's father exudes this, leading up to this tearjerker.

Young Conan: (holding a chain that's keeping a small bucket of molten metal from falling on his father as their house/forge burns) I'm not afraid to die!
Conan's dad: I know. (pulls with all his strength so the molten metal kills him and his son has no more reason to stay and burn)
