Doctor Who: The Curse of Fatal Death/Trivia
- Actor Allusion:
- Both Julia Sawalha and Joanna Lumley starred in Absolutely Fabulous.
- Jonathan Pryce starred in a World War I film about mental patients three years prior to this. The name of the film? Regeneration.
- All-Star Cast: Rowan Atkinson, Jonathan Pryce, Richard E. Grant, Joanna Lumley, Jim Broadbent, and Hugh Grant.
- Casting Gag: All the actors that played the Doctor in this parody were in one point considered for the actual role, including Joanna Lumley. (Richard E. Grant actually went to play the character in Scream of the Shalka, a story that was meant to be canon; but was declared noncanonical during its production).
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Joanna Lumley as the non-canonical thirteenth Doctor feels like a foreshadowing given that the canon version of the same regeneration is played by Jodie Whittaker.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: It's on VHS, so it's no longer available to buy (since it's not DVD or Blu-Ray). Legally, thanks to (comic relief) putting it on their own YouTube channel. (BBC hasn't ruled out a future DVD/Blu-Ray release, though they won't consider it, until all the canon episodes get release first).
- Shout Out: The Etheric Beam Locators that are a feature of Vogon Constructor ships are visible briefly in Hitch Hikers Guide to The Galaxy.
