El Negro Blanco

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.
Here's a man that enjoys his work...

El Negro Blanco (in Spanish, "The Black White", for the name of the main character) was an Argentine comic strip. It was published by the newspaper Clarín and told the adventures of the "Negro Blanco", a fictional journalist of the newspaper. The story arcs involve some weird news report assigned to him (or a common one that goes weird) and his multiple romantic conflicts. A rational report going weird may be, for example, when he was sent to an interview, the girl he had left was sent by her own boss, they were both kidnapped along with the man of the interview and Negro's current girlfriend left him when he saw him with her on TV. A weird report: to drive a taxi the whole night, and write the multiple events that took place in that time.

The Negro is torn between two hot women, Chispa and Flopi, unable to settle with either one of them. in the end, he is left alone. Other less sucessful women in his life were Susana, Caramelo, Agatha, etc.

Tropes used in El Negro Blanco include:
  • All Men Are Perverts: Yes, all and each one. All except the owner of the TV channel, he's too important for the stuff of mere mortals.
  • All Women Are Lustful: Yes, all of them want "that" as well. Some of them are lustful behind a mask of decency, and others are openly lustful. And if Marcucci is around, then all women in the vicinity are savagely lustful
  • Naive Newcomer: Flopi
  • Nerds Are Sexy: Susana
  • Omniscient Hero: the witch Agatha. She is completely aware of everything in the story, she can predict future developments (at least, if she's not involved in them) and even subtly influence the characters to her will.
  • Show Within a Show: Aníbal writes a comic strip... with Negro and Chispa as the main characters.
  • This Is Reality: Negro's boss requested him to see a 10-years old girl from a friend family, who had a report for him: find out why their parents are not in love anymore. After all, journalists from the TV can find out anything. TV journalists rule! Well, that's what a 10-years old girl thinks anyway.
  • Unwanted Harem: Declined. Marcucci began with a terrible problem: All Women Are Lustful towards him, all the hot chicks that see him are desperate to have sex with him. Oh, what a terrible problem, man! Then a witch fell in love with him, and turned off his "power": he was no longer capable to seduce anyone. And when the witch left him, she restored it: now, after a brief taste of what it is like for all the other men in the world, he embraced his life as a "serial seductor".
