[[Fanfic]]s are a diverse beast; the only real "rule" is that they have to be based on existing source material. We here at All The Tropes care about them mainly to this extent—is it worthy enough that someone, somewhere, was willing to write a reasonably good trope page for it? If yes, then this is your index - a catalog of all notable fanfics, classified by the works they're based off of. |

Please don't mistake a fanfic's inclusion on this page as being some sort of vindication of it as being a piece of art. Remember that we're a wiki for all trope-based fiction, good or bad. (For example, we list tropes for the [[Star Wars Holiday Special]], and ''nobody'' calls that "good".) Whether or not something is ''good'' or ''liked'' has nothing to do with ''tropes''. In other words, while many of the fics listed below are considered worth a read by a number of tropers, that can still mean that the fic in question is very, very '''bad'''. |
