Gamergate/Trivia
- Discussion of Gamergate on TV Tropes was stifled and banned right from the start.[1] They've since been on GG's boycott list.
- The treatment of GG on sites like Rational Wiki and The Other Wiki has not only spurred massive Flame Wars, but has brought into question just how impartial, fair and ethical such sites are in practice.
- The Flame War on The Other Wiki article got so bad that Jimmy Wales got involved. It also led to the banning of Ryulong, a notorious admin.[2]
- On the mainstream media, the ABC News coverage on GG, which aired in the US on January 2015 tends to be considered one of the worst reports involving video games in recent memory and viewed as on par with yesteryear's sensationalism with video game violence. Added criticism from pro-GG has been levied at accusations of ABC censoring comments on said report's YouTube video.
